Dougie Jones is a young guy who has moved straight from the dancefloor to behind the decks.  Originally from Mansfield in Nottinghamshire this young DJ began his clubbing life spending every night he possibly could at the The Bomb and The Marcus Garvey Ballroom in Nottingham raving away to great events including Firefly, Product and Renaissance as well as frequently taking the short trip to Sheffield to attend the legendary Urban Gorilla.  If there wasn’t much going on near home he would jump on the train and visit other events around the country and spend many great nights at Cream, Circus, The End, The Cross, The Key and Fabric amongst many more.

After spending so many of the best times of his life on these dancefloors Dougie decided that making a living out the electronic music scene was the only thing he wanted to do but not everything went to plan straight away.   In 2007 Dougie unfortunately had to put his dreams on hold for some time because he was involved in an accident and as a result suffered from tinnitus for months.  After staying away from clubs and loud noises for some time he made a full recovery and although he missed some quality nights out in the meantime Dougie returned to the decks following his recovery determined to pick up straight where he left off.

Since then his sets have gone from strength to strength and he has now build quite a name for himself in the Nottingham and Sheffield region after playing at venues and events that he originally frequented as a clubber including Nottingham’s renowned Stealth and Sheffield’s leading club night Urban Gorilla.  Although Dougie’s style is hard to define and always evolving his DJ sets are usually based around beautiful lush synths with plenty of dancefloor delighting basslines and they have proved popular not only on dancefloors but also online.

His production Served Cold has been released both digitally and on CD by Cascabel Records and although this chilled out record is a far cry from his DJ sets it hits a niche well and shows another side to his musical style.  Dougie is also one of the first DJs to take advantage of Allen and Heath’s Xone:4D mixer and his video demonstrations have built him a following well outside of his local area and even lead him to playing a DJ set at Le Lieu Unique in Nantes, France – an old textile factory that is now one of the city’s leading clubs.

Today Dougie is spending most of his time in the studio working on some peak time tracks to complement his DJ sets as well as mastering a completely live setup based around the Allen & Heath Xone:4D, Ableton Live and Logic.  Expect to see some more exciting developments soon!
